Claire Fauquier

Claire has spent the last decade as a Venture investor, angel investor and operator within the US and Canadian tech ecosystems. Claire returned to Toronto, her hometown, to join Brightspark in 2025.
Prior to Brightspark, Claire was SVP of Business Operations and Strategy at Running Tide, an ocean-based carbon removal startup based in Portland, Maine. She joined the team at around 15 employees and helped scale it to 120 employees at its peak, building and leading the Business Operations team, leading strategic planning, fundraising and investor relations.
Prior to this, Claire spent almost a decade in New York City in Venture Capital, first with Alpaca Ventures and then with Highland Capital Partners.
In addition to this, Claire has been an active angel investor, investing both independently and with an angel syndicate of women in VC.
Claire completed her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University.
