Kathryn Wortsman is based in Toronto and leads Amplify Capital as Founder and Managing Partner.  Amplify Capital is a leading Canadian impact venture fund focused on early-stage technology companies solving for clean energy, improved education outcomes, and better health aligning with SDG#3 Good Health, SDG#4 Quality Education and SDG #13 Climate Action. Kathryn acts as a Board Member and Advisor to multiple portfolio investments as they grow from seed to growth stage.

Kathryn started her career in investment banking at RBC Dominion Securities and then went on to spent most of her 20+year career investing and managing venture capital and private equity in small to medium sized businesses both in New York and Toronto.  In New York, Kathryn was a Principal with Constellation Ventures, a Bear Stearns sponsored venture capital fund and an Investment Director for the strategic insurance technology investments group for MetLife 

Her passion in social finance was born 15 years ago when she joined Social Venture Partners New York City and then subsequently founded Social Venture Partners Toronto.   

Kathryn holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
