Michael is both a partner at GreenSky Capital and a partner and practicing lawyer at Ormston List Frawley LLP. At Ormston List Frawley LLP, Michael’s legal practice focuses on providing corporate, commercial and transactional advice in the finance, technology and information technology sectors.

At GreenSky Capital, Michael assists with financing, mentoring and providing financial advisory services to early stage, high-growth companies in the CleanTech, MedTech and information technology fields and sits on the board of a number of Canadian and international companies. In the early 2000s, Michael co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of Freedom9, a multi-national computer hardware distributor.

In the late 2000s, Michael was a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Toro FX, a private Canadian currency exchange company which was sold two and a half years after its inception to a TSX listed company. He is currently Vice-President and General Counsel of Smart Energy Instruments, a fabless semi-conductor company based in Toronto and Tokyo, that develops game-changing, ubiquitous measurement technologies for the burgeoning “Smart Grid” to address today’s global energy-environment challenges.
