Ian MacDonald leads the Client Experience Data and Analytics team at Sun Life Financial. In this role, he is responsible for the Company’s Marketing and Sales analytics in Canada, with a goal of enabling great Client experiences across channels and businesses. Since joining Sun Life in 2016, Ian has been building the Data Analytics organization and capabilities with an emphasis on agile analytics, Machine Learning applications for Next Best Action, self service Business Intelligence and modern data architecture.
Before joining Sun Life, Ian lead the Customer Base Analytics organization at Rogers, and for eight years was a Principal at Booz and Company, a Strategy consulting firm based in New York. Ian has an MBA and Master’s of Materials Engineering from MIT, a Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Waterloo and a Mathematics degree from Mount Allison University.
