Born in Saint John, NB, Jordan Kennie grew up primarily in Fredericton, NB. After graduating from Fredericton High School, Jordan attained a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick (UNB). It was during his time at university that he met Daniel Larsen and Erik Hatfield, as well as found his passion for entrepreneurship. In 2015, the trio took the Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (TME) program at UNB and designed an energy storage system for heat pumps.
This idea was the foundation that sparked the creation of Stash Energy Inc., a start-up company that sells energy storage to people by partnering with utility companies, increasing the usage of renewable energy and saving people money on their monthly power bills.
As CEO of Stash Energy Inc., Jordan has since received a Master’s Degree in TME from UNB and recently received Startup Canada’s 2017 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Earlier this year, Stash Energy Inc. started to work with several utilities on deploying their products and is currently in the middle a pilot project with Summerside Electric. The company has also been successful in a pre-seed investment round.
