Open banking is rapidly becoming a global phenomenon. The UK has already implemented an open banking framework, Australia will do so next year, and a recent U.S. Treasury Report called for open banking in the U.S. This panel will examine the question of open banking in Canada. Proponents say it will give us a global competitive edge and provide immense consumer benefit. But there are questions of consent and liability to consider. What are the risks of open banking, and what are the potential rewards?
